Open Water

Why a PADI Open Water?

As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. If you already tried a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience or are PADI Scuba Diver certified, check with your instructor to see how credit from these courses may apply to the open water program.

Theory

Using a combination of home study with manuals & video, or CD-ROM along with informal tutoring sessions with an instructor, the knowledge and skills required to dive safely and comfortably will be covered, with multiple choice quizzes being used to ensure that each student understand the points covered in each section.

Pool/Confined Water Training

These sessions will introduce you, the student to the equipment and skills that will ensure that each diver will be able to dive safely with buddies on completion of the course. Small class sizes are used to ensure that each student gains the maximum benefit from these sessions.

Open Water Dive Training

Once the academics and confined water sessions have been completed and the student is comfortable with the skills learnt, the diving moves to the sea, where under the watchful eye of instructors and divemasters the student puts the skills already learnt into practice. These dives also give the students a chance to participate in diving for fun since time is put aside for enjoying pleasure dives. There are four Open Water dives required, which we will do in and around the Sydney area.

Medical Statement Form
Current dive medical (within 12 months)
